Conference of the Future strives to create accessible and engaging workshops
with a focus on emerging research techniques.
with a focus on emerging research techniques.
BENEFITS OF OUR WORKSHOPS:
INSTRUCTORS:
REGISTRATION FEES:
- Gain specialized skills: Our workshops focus on new technologies and their research applications, going beyond the scope of traditional academic programs. To further increase accessibility, our workshops focus on the applications of free, open-source software (e.g. RStudio, QGIS, Inkscape).
- Join a global research community: Our workshops are live-streamed via Zoom to help foster a sense of community among participants. Although our workshops occur live, the schedule (below) is provided in multiple time zones to encourage international participation. We also create Slack cohorts for each workshop session, which attendees are encouraged to join to create a global research network for future support.
INSTRUCTORS:
- To focus content on emerging techniques and to increase opportunities for young researchers, we encourage selecting PhD students and postdoctoral researchers as instructors.
- In recognition of their time and expertise, we direct 50% of workshop revenues to the instructors.
REGISTRATION FEES:
- To increase accessibility and attendance, we allow participants to register for an individual workshop session ($30), or for the entire Conference of the Future including all workshops, webinars, and the poster gallery ($150).
